Invariably, as an artist and psychotherapist, Amber Cady’s attention vears toward the complex ways people try to make sense of themselves.

Focusing on acts that function to assemble, disassemble, or transform perspectives on selfhood, her work explores the forces that shape senses of self, along with the relationships those selves have to the worlds they inhabit, through performance, video|film, painting|drawing, and sound.

She recieved BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in Interdisciplinary Studies, studied painting at The École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France in the atelier of Dominique Gauthier, and finished a master’s in Counseling Psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley California.
