Presented in collaboration with Storefront Institute, this experiential workshop explored the intelligence of olfaction as it relates to somatic awareness and by extension self-care.

Through mindfulness prompts, physical movement, writing, discussionand participants’ bodily responses to various essential oils we learned about the physiological effects of essential oils on one’s nervous system, memory, and mood.
Drawing from the internal experiences of the oils' impact on their systems, each participant designed a personalized “cologne” to act as an olfactory reminder that could be incorporated into the daily rhythms and habits of their lives.

In this way making connections between mind and body, smell and emotional or physical needs, as well as the value of discernment and intention.
